ive been thinking lately about maken a custom exhaust. i was going to do true dual that go from headers and have it exit on the sides in front of the rear tires, would this be alot of fabricating?

ive been thinking lately about maken a custom exhaust. i was going to do true dual that go from headers and have it exit on the sides in front of the rear tires, would this be alot of fabricating?

If you have a 4 door Jimmy, your going to have issues with the gas tank along the driver's side just in front of the rear wheels. The other issue also is that with a true duel exhaust, your going to have to replace the Catalytic converter and run two of then and have an X pipe made which there is really no room under the Jimmy to do and the fact that the front prop shaft runs along the driver's side of the transmission if you have a 4wd.

The major issue also is that with a true duel exhaust, your 4.3 will not have enough back pressure and will cause you to lose out on your HP and TQ on your lower to mid RPM range. The Cam on the 4.3 works it's best on the low to mid RPM range so the best you can do for better performance is to run a single 2.5 inch cat back exhaust and if your like replace the Catalytic converter with a high flow and tune your PCM for the new exhaust system.
