I have a lifted 2016 GMC Sierra SLT. Soon after I bought it, I noticed that when I was making sharp turns, such as into a parking lot or trying to turn across traffic, the traction control or Stabilitrak light would come on and the brakes would engage. I have turned off traction control but it still did it. I have also turned off both traction control and stabilitrak. That did make it better, but it still did it. I have taken it back to the dealer several times, and they have opened a support case with GM. Yet they still have no answers. I have seen at least 1 video on YouTube of someone else having the same problems, but they do not know a fix yet. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

I have a 2005 Sierra I do not have Traction Control / Stabilitrak on my truck. I have noticed at times when I turn sharp in a parking lot at low speeds and drive over the painted lines when it is wet out my tires appear and sound like they are slipping a bit due to the material they use in making the lines. If they are slipping on your vehicle this may be a reason why you are having an issue with your Traction Control / Stabilitrak. I am not saying this is your issue just putting it out there from my experience.

would it not still be under warranty, I have read on other forums of this complaint. so you are not the only one.

If you are making a sharp turn and giving it gas to skid or swing out the rear end it will activate the Traction Control, Stability track and apply the brakes, it is to prevent a role over, if you are doing a gentle turn it shouldn't activate and if it does, in this situation then it is malfunctioning. Your vehicle also have a tilt sensor which will tell you the grade or tilt angle to also control role over.
