Hey Guys,

I have a 2003 GMC 1500 Sierra Z71 Regular cab 4x4 automatic. My transfer case has a slow leak and I've been filling, but two or three times it got near empty on me. I notice when I hit around 60mph I get a noise or vibration similar to the road noise produced by bad tires or mismatched tires. I feel that if I go faster something bad may happen. I'm wondering if this is the result of running the truck with the transfer case near empty. Even though its full now maybe it sustained some damage. I noticed today when servicing the truck at a quick oil change place that on the drivers side the front differential might be leaking because the technician and I saw fluid underneath in that area. I'm wondering if the axle on that side is bad or a bad seal. So my question is given the above could the noise at 60mph and above be from the transfer case or the front differential/axle? I'm tired of driving at 54-55mph everyone is passing me..lol.. Thanks for any info provided...
