Man! Got a 95 jimmy. This truck will kill me one day i just know it. I recently noticed tranny fluid leak on the passenger side, right below the radiator. I'm guessing that means this truck has some sorta transmission cooling system. The leak however is coming from a black "T" looking plug at the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side. Is that a drain plug? And does a leak there mean i need to replace the plug or just an O-ring if there's one? Thx everyone

Oh, and i checked the coolant & tranny reservoirs. No mixing...

Just the O ring but it will not hurt if you replace the plug it self.

Cool thx. Another question tho is: why is tranny fluid coming outta there? Shouldnt it be coolant @ that location?

While taking a second look at the leak source, it seems to be coming from the pentagon looking fitting on the radiator itself. It just seeps down to the black plug. Thats y i initially thot it was the plug. What do i do in that regard? Do i need a new radiator? Or is there a way to stop the leak? Thx again.

Clean the area out with brake parts cleaner and take a closer look to where its leaking from, most case its going to be a bad O ring from the transmission line to the radiator.

The transmission line just clips in to the transmission and when the O ring fails from just time, that start to leak. If you have not had your transmission serviced This would be a good time to have it done and in most case something this simple, they shop will not even charge you for the repair.

P.S it sound like you don't need a new radiator, just a little cleaning up to do. keep up the great work and post back to what you have found.:D

I'll check it out tomorrow. Thx man. I'm not sure what a tranny service entails, but i'll check it out.

So i simply undid the tranny cooling line and re-tightened it. No leaks so far. Thx for the help. However, a new problem has developed. It might be a little hard to troubleshoot here, so i'm probably gonna pay a shop some diag fee to tell me what it is. But if anyone has an idea, pls post thx. So here's the problem: I'll start by saying this problem is most definitely an RPM/LOAD issue, and it only happens between 1 & 2k rpms. As the truck accelerates, it upshifts fine. However, as soon as the rpm needle drops to about 1500k rpms at cruising(40-50m/h), the truck starts to buck slightly as long as i keep my foot perfectly stationary. And at this point, i can see the rpm needle bouncing up n down. But when i step on the gas, the bucking goes away.. This also happens when i'm on a slight incline. Speed seems to be inconsequential as this happens between 15 & 30m/h also. So far my guesses are Idle Air Control Valve, Mass Air flow sensor, Cam sensor, or tranny. Lol. I know wide spectrum of possibilities...

You probably should start a new thread for this problem ;)
