Does anyoneknow if the progress of a vehicle that has been ordered can be tracked through all the various stages of the build and shipping ? I ordered a 2017 Canyon Denali yesterday and am already anxious for the very exciting delivery date. I currently have a 2015 Canyon SLT Crew that I love to drive and have had zero problems with it but since it turned 20,000 miles the other day I feel the need for a new one.

Your dealer can provide you with that information. If he can't find a new dealer.

The Dealer has offered to keep me up to date as major things happen, in this computer world you would think a buyer could track on a daily basis. I am one who would rather have the fun of following the vehicle down the line rather than bother the dealer on a weekly update. My 2015 GMC was a lot of fun to track but the source of my information escapes me, it has been suggested the chat line will help and i will give that a try.

I am ordering a 2017 Canyon SLT this week and was wondering the same thing. Going to be a long and painful 6-8 weeks.

Densyer, So far my search has been futile as i search for the magic spot to release that information, i have difficulty accepting the idea that a company as large as GM selling expensive products cannot provide the consumer with what is a regimented schedule. My next effort will be through GM chat this evening as my order has been in a week today and should at least be accepted. If you find the code indicating the stage of processing I have a list to decipher them. Code 2000 is acceptance by GM, 3000 accepted by production control, etc.

Denayer, If you use live chat on the GM site they will be happy to give you current status, be sure to have your order code for them ( usually six capital letters).

Thanks! It will be built in Missouri about 6 hours from me, I wish I could pick it up once done instead of waiting for it to be shipped to Wichita.

After thinking about the pure misery of waiting, I said screw it and found what I wanted in Oklahoma and went and got it. Got more options for same price if I would have ordered.

I ordered a Denali, the only options available were tow brake controller and engine heater....i ordered both. Unfortunately still no power rear window, Home link garage door opener and indicator on inst cluster when in 4x4.

I feel like i am talking to myself here as there are so few posters present but i need to continue my rant. Checked the progress of my order after almost three weeks only to find it was cancelled by the dealer. Contact with the dealer and was informed there was a problem with the order and they re submitted to GM and should be picked up this Tuesday. So several weeks were wasted however I believe there must be a reason for everything and the end results will be worth the wait. In the mean time i am driving my 15 Canyon that I have been given a firm dollar value for the trade leaving depreciation to the dealer. Ie found a Denali ( not first choice in color ) just forty miles from here and if things do not move in the coming week I shall see what that one will be as far as final figueres are concerned. With the Denali my only option is an engine heater, a simple task for the dealer to install.
Oh well! Now the wait begins all over.

Finally at 3300 status with next week as production week, once it got into the system things are moving along. When built then the wait on shipping begins, but of course i am not the least bit anxious.

I so enjoy writing these posts to myself as it seems no one else has experienced the desire to know more about their build progress and apparently are content to simply wait for some salesman to call and say "come and get it". I have enjoyed the challenge of finding any source where i could gain information on the assembly of my new vehicle eveen though somewhat frustrating. This is assembly week but when it will actually will become an automobile has escaped me so far. The dealer indicates they will not know until next Tuesday and receipt of the invoice, I will try on friday via GM chat to see if additional information is available.
If anyone else has gone through this challenge please share those experiences.

Hello out there in Canyon land, back again after determining my truck has been built ( ordered Valentine's Day, built April Fool's day and delivered--? Maybe Easter!

Cavie,, I did not know anyone was following my ramblings, hello, It is still several weeks to delivery date but I will report back when she finally arrives.

Well just a small hitch in information, the GM chat person who told me the vehicle was shipped was corrected by an email later in the day that indicated the vehicle is waiting for a rail car. It has in fact been waiting (and still is) in GM's lot for a rail car to transport it. Two weeks it has waited with no ship date in sight.

Perhaps delivery will be in the first weekk of May...dealer is supposed to let me know when date is confirmed. Cavie, don't go away you have been my only fan.
