Hey,
My girlfriends 2008 envoy is having washer pump issues, none of the 3 (windshield, back windshield or head lamps) pumps work.

Here's what I know:

1. Washer Tank is full.
2. Lines not clogged.
3. I Replaced front windshield pump hoping to solve problem but.. ( still not working )
3. Relay in fuse box makes clicking sound when washer button pressed so switch and relay seems to be working.
4. None of the 3 pumps are making a buzzing sound or pumps fluid.
5. Windshield wiper motor seems to work fine in all speeds.

Question...?

Does the actual wiper motor control all the pumps even though it still works, can this be the issue?

Or are the pumps controlled by just by the switch and relays

Obvious its a electrical problem....So what should I check next ?

I'm not that great with electrical issues...but process of elimination and detailed how to checks I can follow.

I've poked around the net and some other people's issues are similar but can't seem to find a post that is the same problem.

Thanks in advance

Hello OLDSCHOOL3838,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue with your girlfriend’s Envoy and the washer pump. I see that you are reaching out to the community to see if there is a way you would be able to fix it yourself, but I wanted to extend my assistance in working with a dealership if you would like. Please private message us if you would like to further discuss your concerns. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.

Do you have a manual that has an electrical schematic? That's the next step. I don't have one handy, but that is where I would start. Look for a common cause that would prevent all three pumps from firing. I don't know if they are tied into the BCM (body module computer) or not...we have an '04 but have never had any issues with the fluid pump(s).

Correct that there is only one reservoir, but 3 pumps. One for each washer. The fuse for the windshield pump is #9, the relay is #42 (under hood fuse box). The ground (for the relay) is provided by the control module in the wiper motor assembly.

I would also start by checking one of the washer pumps. Try the one located under the air cleaner assembly. There will be a connector with 2 terminals. There should be power on the red wire anytime the washer button is pressed. Use a voltmeter or a 12V test lamp. There should be ground on the black wire at all times. If there is no power than check the washer fluid fuse and relay again in the under-hood fuse block.
