I just checked the trans fluid as I do every month or so.
I don't drive this jimmy very often, and the last time checked all was fine.
But now it obviously has water in it. The fluid is is discolored and WAY over the fill limit.
Trans is still working perfect, surprising with all that water in it.
So I need a new radiator right, easy job no problem.
Question is,
I dont drive jimmy hardly at all.
If it use radiator sealer in it, I am afraid it will get in the trans and mess it up. $$$
What are your thoughts.
4saken, thanks, i didnt think about clutch swelling in h2o.
I was just gonna change the fluid a couple times to get rid of the water after fixing the problem.
I have never understood why in 50 years they dont provide for maint on your auto trans. Just crazy !! All we need is just a couple wee little drain plugs.
Just glad we don`t have to remove the oil pan from the to change the eng oil.
A drain and external filter ,is that too much expect after 60 years of auto transmissions ?
Oop`s , I realise it is too much to ask,as the decided to put the fuel pumps " in" the fuel tanks. Another great idea!
