I have a 2007 Acadia, and recently we've been having several weird electrical problems.

The first has happened only once. When I started the car, the dash failed to "start" as did the radio and none of the power windows, locks, mirrors, etc. worked. The car drove fine however. When I pressed the power button to the radio, the lights on the dash came on, but all of the gauges were off. No speedometer, not fuel gauge, no voltage gauge, nothing. Then, after driving it about 5 more minutes everything just "came on" and started working fine.

The second happened the same day as the first, and continues to happen about 15-20% of the time. When starting the car, none of the electrical components of the passenger side of the car work (windows, locks, mirrors, etc.) and the lights on the heated seat buttons are all illuminated. They may stay "broken" until the next time we get in the car, or they may start working while we're driving. We can always tell when they start working because the lights will go out on the heated seat buttons. Once they go out, everything works fine.

Hello the coder. Sorry to hear about these issues. Are you looking to take care of these yourself? Thank you for your time.

Fix myself or return to dealer

I've only owned this vehicle for 3.5 weeks. I'd like to fix it myself or pay to have it fixed if it doesn't cost much. If it is a major problem, then I'd consider taking it back to the dealership where I purchased it and demanding they fix it.

The dealership has been less than helpful since I purchased the car, and I'm considering writing GMC to complain about them anyways. This electrical issue is just (moldy) icing on the (rotted) cake.

If your original dealer wont work with you you can always try another dealer to see if they can help you. If it does look like it might be a cost prohibitive repair you can always check in with me here and I'll see what I can do to help you out. Let me know how things go for this repair. I hope it's quick and simple for you.

Thank you for the response. I will post an update here when I figure out what's wrong and what course of action I'll be taking.

I have a 2007 Acadia but thank god I purchased the extended warranty. I have had alot of issues. The most recent is the struts blew out. I would suggest you google tsb (technician service bulletin for the Acadia) then take it to the dealer you just purchased it from you will be amazed at how many things should be covered.
I just discovered that my headlight issue (3 bulbs so far) is not a cheap bulb as stated by the dealer tsb 10-08-42 headlight connectors burning out, also my sunroof leaking problem TSB 08-207 extensions are needed, struts being replaced, power steering, stablizer (spel ck lol), they just sent out something recently on extending the warranty on the timing belt (i think thats what it was for)
