Im looking to swap my 4.3 V6 in my 95' Jimmy for something much more powerful but I have no idea what to look for. What is the biggest and baddest engine that will mount directly to my factory motor mounts and transmission? If anyone can help me out that would be great.

If it's going to be a street driver with good performance and you're not afraid of electrical work I always thought it would be nice to go with a 5.3 or a 6.0 with a matching transmission. Performance with daily driver dependability and gas mileage.
I would look for a complete car/truck with a driveline that you want that's been "totaled" by an insurance company. That way you can use the engine/transmission and computers for a decent price.
You can find a 5.3 engine, transmission and ECM for $500.00 if you look hard enough. The 5.7 are to popular and want to much for it, so might as well go for the 6.0 liter engine if you are going to spend that much. But in reality, go for the 5.3 and swap out the cam and you;ll wake it from the dead and do as much damage as the 6.0 liter for an extra $400.00 Cam kit.
