...2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali? I am in college and interested in one of these trucks... my parents are buying me it but i have to pay for gas.. i know its a big truck but i like them and theyre comfortable but i want one and im going to get it but since im paying for the gas i dont want it to be that much where i cant afford it so i like the denali because it has more options but the engine is bigger... so i need to know the difference between the two..

Thanks

Not much of a difference but keep in mind that the 07 with the Fuel Management System are known to burn engine oil up to as bad as 1 liter every 2000 miles.

Good luck and enjoy when ever one you buy. ;)

For 2007 the Yukon XL's largest engine is the 6.0L and that has been estimated at 18 highway 13 city 15 combined. The 2007 Yukon XL Denali had the 6.2L engine and that was estimated at 18 highway 12 city and 14 combined. I hope this information helps you. Also if you need more of these figures then I would suggest you check out www.fueleconomy.org. It is a website setup specifically for vehicle gas mileages and goes all the way back to 1985.

Your real concern should be that you will have a 7 passenger sled! Guess who's gonna drive the gang around?? I have the short Denali and it gets about 13 around town. The heavier XL will surely do 1MPG less minimum............especially fully loaded w/ all those friends :-)

Best wishes!

FYI the oil consumption concern has been an area of concern GM has been looking into and has several fixes based on the symptoms...prob the biggest culprit is a clogged oil breather line (PCV) that is an easy fix. An '07 came with 5 year/100k powertrain, so have your dealer do an oil consumption test. If it passes change your oil every 3k and you will never have a problem.
