what type of transmission does my 1998 GMC sierra need?

we looked for a tag number but the only number i could find was 242065 and it doesn't match the types of transmissions

Look in your Glove box for the RPO codes.

M30 will indicate you have a 4L60E transmission and the transmission pan will have 16 bolts
MT1 will indicate you have a 4L80E transmission and the transmission pan will have 17 bolts
