...idle is high& trans slips bad.? actually i changed modulators already and it seems worse than before ,this started after i replaced the u-joints and while down there i saw the cross member was loose that supports the trans so i tightened it and that was it. is this maybe a vacuum that is leaking?
thanks bob -and a merry christmas to you too!

Jack it and put it on stands and look over the whole transmmission bec it could be a vac leak and the idling problem could also be a bad vac line.A;so low transmission fluid levels or dirt or a dirty transmission filter could cause the slippage problem and if it was a bad transmission you'd probably find larger then normal pieces of metal in the pan.

Hope that helps and best of luck.Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

Once a tranny starts to slip it's time for a rebuilt unit. The oil pump in the transmission gave up the ghost and all the clutch packs are fried from slipping. Smell the brown burnt ATF!
