I got my engine light reset on 2000 GMC Sonoma and need to run the truck through the cycle in order to get it inspected. Does anyone know what the cycle is exactly? All people keep telling me is "just drive it around" but id like to know if it is more specific. Thanks!

1. Turn the ignition keys to the run position for 30 seconds and then off for 5 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition keys to the run position for 05 seconds then start the engine
3. let idle for 5 min then got for a drive around town and then out on the high way.
If not check engine light is on then your good to go.
You may find the transmission to shift harder then it used to at first but will adjust it self as you continue to drive the Sonoma.
