When and why did GMC stop making the Sonoma?

I own a 1998 Sonoma truck. I like it and I still get good millage with this truck. I almost bought another one a few years back. I heard that they stopped making them. I don't know why. I thought they be a good seller.

They were not good sellers.The Canyon
gets better gas milage and is more sturdy
of a chassis.They stopped making them in
2003 because it took GM another 2 years
to come up with the design for the Canyon.
