I'm trying to repair a battery problem for my elderly dad. His vehicle is a 1999 Suburban 1500. Something is causing a big amperage draw when the vehicle is parked. I have removed the light under the hood and the glove box light. I've checked at nighttime to see if any light is turned on. Nothing. Something is drawing almost an amp (920 milliamps). The only fuses that I have found are some in a flat box by the master cylinder on the wheel well in the engine compartment. When I remove a 50 amp fuse marked 'Bat' the current draw stops. I am guessing that it supplies another fuse panel somewhere. There are no fuses for radio, side mirrows, instrument lights etc. in this fuse box. I've looked under the dash and have been unable to find more fuses. The owners manual is missing. I would really appreciate some help on this.

there should be a fuse panel on left side of dash between the door and dashboard. Open door all the way and you should see it.

'happy 2011' -- You are correct. Thanks for the help. Here I have been looking under the dash and failed to look at the end of the dash.

me to!

Looked all over / under the dash and there it was right in front of me. To make matters worst..I went and purchased the old style style glass tube fuses? Another trip to auto zone...at least I had an excuse to look at all the goodies:D
