I'd like to have a remote start system for those really cold Colorado Winter mornings. It's a 5.3L V8 4x4 automatic transmission, if that makes a difference.

I've seen them for as low as $50.00, but have heard the cheap ones aren't worth buying.

What should I pay for a high quality kit? Who makes a really good one?

Thanks!
Chris

I have ran CompuStar as well as Viper. Hated every compustar one I owned. Worked great for about a year or so then turned to crap. Viper has a feature that if your vehicle's battery gets below 12V after not running for a while it will start the engine to recharge it. Viper also allows you to set a temperature to start your vehicle for 15min at a time if it gets too cold out. Great feature for up here in Canada.

Astro Start

Is all I can recommend. Needs to be installed by a certified Astro installer. That is all I have used over the years, so I guess I can't compare to any other. Never had any issue with them. Kinda on the expensive side for sure though.
