why would there be air coming out from where the tire meets the rim
so much that the tire was
flat in a day
what causes this

I'm not sure whether your tire was recently mounted , or whether the leak suddenly appeared in a tire that has been mounted for a while. A sudden rim leak from a tire that's been mounted for a while may indicate a bent rim, rotted tire or broken bead, low tire pressure, or overloading. I assume you've used a bubble solution to positively locate the leaks. The leaks that I've had between the tire bead and the rim have been slow leaks that required an air addition about every week or two. They have all been caused by sloppy mounting procedures . I've found that a careful inspection of the rim and tire bead surfaces before mounting, and a cleaning of the surfaces, usually eliminates leaks. I also often use a bead sealing liquid . Since I bought my own tire mounting machine, I can take the time to do the job carefully, and eliminate the quick and dirty procedures done at most tire stores. My bubble balancer does a good job about 90% of the time, but occasionally a tire and rim need a dynamic balancing.

This is very common is rust belt states with aluminum wheels. Corrosion forms on the tire bead area and causes a leak. You are going to have to take it to a tire shop and have them take the tire apart and clean the wheels and tires beads, usually with a wire brush. This may or may not solve the problem, as new wheels may be the only solution. Be very careful buying used aluminum wheels, if the bead area is not perfect, don't buy them at any price.

Ok So I finally got down the spare tire As the secondary safety latch was stuck like usual On GM vehicle trucks. I'm going to clean it with soap and water the whole assembly for the spare tire! Rubber boot, plastic piece Get it all nicey nice Wd 40 the heck out of it And then I have some metal lubricant I will work into the exact location with that second safety latche is,
I'm getting 2 new front tires And will have the tire installer Clean the ram bead area very well with a wire brush
I guess it could have been a combination of the Rims getting a little corroded like aluminum rims usually do with that white chalky mess.
I think the tires were original equipment on the 08 Sierra 1500 I have Goodyear
P 265. 70. Are 17 WranglerGOODYEAR. AT/S that would be 66,000 miles on those tires is that possible?
And if it is this the tread was still ok goodto how to pass a new York state inspection just last month but the mechanic did tell me it will definitely be time by next inspection 10 months from now

Sorry for so many repos I do not know how that happen
Does anybody know a place On the internet That you can get the tire sensors cheap I think the dealership 65 dollars a piece
I heard you can get them as cheapest as 25 dollars on the internet
Any info would greatly be appreciated
I wish I had 65 dollars to give to a dealership
but living paycheck to paycheck you really want to find a place that has a cheaper

I'm surprised you're having that much trouble with aluminum rims. We have a 2003 Malibu with aluminum wheels , and never had any rim leaks in the past two years. We're in Delaware , not too far south of NYC. It might be that our tires were mounted with a bead leak sealant or other special coating .
