I have a 2005 Sierra, extended cab and have always had a problem with wind noise on the passenger door. I had them look at it right after I bought it, but they said there was no problem. Initially, on the highway, in a heavy crosswind, there would be a ton of wind noise coming from top of the passenger door. It has now gotten to the point where it is loud anytime we are at speeds above about 60.

The weatherstripping looks fine, no cuts or flat spots in it. It is all secure and not moving around. I keep it clean and wipe it down about twice a year with Son of A Gun or similar preservative.

Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it?

The windshield trim on the left and right sides of the glass gets air under it with certain speeds and/or crosswind and makes a popping or fluttering noise. If this is what you are hearing if you lift up on the trim on each side and put a bead of black rtv between the trim and glass and let it sit a couple hours the trim will stay adhered to the glass and noise will be gone.

Good luck and keep us posted and here is a link that yu may be interested in. http://www.gmwindnoisekit.com/

I have the wind noise kit on order, should be here soon. Will let you know how it works.

Well, still no kit yet. I just bought a new 2010 GMC 1500, gonna go pick it up in Atlanta this weekend. My dad is buying my 2005, so even if the kit comes in after I get the new one, I will let you guys know how well it works.

Had same issue after installing bug deflector. Placed adhesive between windshield glass and moulding (on the sides) and corrected it.
