Window only goes down in increments?

I just got a 92 Sonoma with the 4.3 and I have an issue with the driver side window. It goes down, but in increments. I push the button it goes down about 3" then stops, wait a few minutes another 3". I think the motor is bad, but could it maybe be the switch?
