Dear GMC nation, I own a 2003, 2.2L, V4, RWD, manual transmission, SLS sonoma. Here is my situation. I bought my truck from a dealer for $5,000 dollars. when i bought it it had 191,000 miles. bad buy, i know. After a few years now it has 227,000 and i am debating with myself if i should just get a newer vehicle with regular maintence until something major is bound to happen with so many miles. Or do an engine rebuild or possibly an engine swap seeing as how easy it supposedly is. However wouldnt i have to do a complete car makeover. I.e new springs, shocks, trans, etc. So my question to you all is what is the more logical choice. to fix my truck the point of almost brand new or drive it till the wheels fall off?

Drive it till the wheels fall off if you are unable to purchase a different vehicle for the time being...my .02 cents worth

Keep is simple and replace parts as they wear out or before they wear out. Example as to bushings and shock ect. As for the engine, do proper maintenance and you should be good to go. Your 2.2 is a 4 bolt main and can take a lot more then the older 2.2's

Good Luck and keep us posted. :D
