The alarm on my 1999 Jimmy SLT 4WD went off at 5AM today (in my absence) until the battery died.

I'm 93% sure I locked doors upon parking yesterday, yet they were unlocked after the incident. Not sure if foul play or malfunction is afoot.

The power locks no longer work by either remote (with good battery) or door switch. The power lock fuse (#14) is good & I hear a click, but no movement upon activating the door switch.

Ideas? Thanks

Door lock relay? fob?

Upon searching this thread, I see references to a "fob" and a power lock relay.

What's a fob? Where's the power lock relay?

"fob" is the remote and the following was copied from another site:

The polarity-reversing relay is located under the driver-side dash and is mounted by a push-through keeper to the circular, raised section of the firewall. Put your steering wheel in the highest position, lie on your back with your head under the dash. Then as you (or someone else) activates the door lock switch on the driver door controls, listen and feel until you can "feel" the clicking from the relay. It is a black, relatively flat, component about two inches wide and two inches long and attached to the electrical system by a multi-wire plug.

Thanks...will check.
