Hey Everyone,
I have a 2010 Sierra 5.3 and after my truck has been siting for awhile it has a hard time starting. When I turn the key to start the truck it acts like it is going to start up but then the RPMs will shoot down for about 5 seconds and the truck sounds like it is about to die, then it will rev up really high and eventually calm down and level out. I didn't know if anyone had any ideas what I could do to figure out what was going on. At first I thought it might be the battery but I went and got that checked out and they said it was alright and I have also put some HEET into the gas to see if I got some bad gas somewhere. My truck has been doing this the past month or so and it doesn't do it if my truck has been started in the last 5 hours or so. PLEASE help or just give me an opinion on what I need to do. Thanks in advance.
