Has anyone had a problem with frame rust on 2014 Sierra / Silverado's? I noticed the black wax coating is failing on my 2014 Sierra with the Carbon 22 package. This is nearly a $50K sticker for a new truck and I would expect far better than less than 10K miles before I see substantial frame rust. I've started looking at other GM trucks and have noticed the same thing, even on a new one sitting on the dealer's lot before being sold. I don't understand it, both my 2011 Impala and 2007 Saturn Vue with 100K and 70K miles look far better underneath than my new truck! After doing some initial research, it looks like GM decided to use a wax coating instead of paint or powder coating. I've started taking pictures of my truck along with others I find to document this. I plan on talking to my dealer about this at the next oil change but this is extremely disappointing. I bought this new truck after reading a GM press release stating how "rust resistant" the 2014 pickups are after a complete redesign. Sounds like someone forgot to include the frame coating in that redesign process! Everyone knows that once rust starts, it's extremely difficult to stop. I wonder how long before the frame or components connected to it suffer a complete failure??
