Even on the volume trims like the Elevation, the Sierra simply feels a bit more planted, quiet, and solidly put together than the Ford.

Getting the Job Done - Towing and Utility

These are full-size trucks, so they need to actually work when called upon. Ford has always been extremely proud of their towing numbers, and for 2026, they've refined their Pro Trailer Backup Assist. It's a neat party trick where you turn a little dash mounted knob to steer your trailer in reverse.

But GMC knows that real truck owners don't always need a computer taking over the steering wheel to back up their boat. Instead, GMC focuses intensely on visibility and durability. If you do a lot of long haul driving, the Sierra equipped with Super Cruise will leave you feeling substantially more rested when you finally reach your destination.

Plus, if you opt for the Sierra AT4 or AT4X, you get an incredibly capable off road machine that doesn't punish you on the pavement. The AT4X features those mind blowing Multimatic DSSV dampers. They completely soak up punishing off-road washboards but still manage to make the truck ride like a premium luxury sedan on the highway. Ford's Tremor and Raptor trims are highly capable in the dirt, but they tend to be a bit firmer, wider, and bouncier during the daily commute to the office.

...when all is said and done...

Look, I'm not here to tell you the 2026 Ford F-150 isn't a great truck. It's packed with technology, it tows a house, and it has a massive, fiercely loyal following for a very good reason. If you buy one, you'll probably be very happy with your purchase.
