I had a bad drive shaft, bad universals, and a bad slip yoke. 560 bucks to have a shaft made and replace the yoke. The guy who made the shaft tells me I shouldn't put the new shaft in untill I replace the bushing and seal on the transfer case (to make sure I don't ruin the new shaft). When the vehicle is in neutral there is no play in the output shaft of the transfer case. So here is the question, has any one ever pulled this bushing without dropping the transfer case? The chevy dealership and the local AAmco say it has to be dropped. A tranny guy down the road says he can do it with out dropping the case. He has a tool (I have seen it, it looks like a cross between a e-z out and a gear puller)that can pull it. Tonight I am going to remove the seal and take a look inside and see who is right. any input would be great THANKS!!! Oh yeah, aamco and the dealer say about 400 bucks the guy down the road, 100, the damn bushing is 7 dollars from the dealer
